Agricultural Data Statistics and Analysis Pilot Program

Agricultural Data Statistics and Analysis Pilot Program

This program is funded by the State of Queensland acting through the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and commenced November 2018. The primary activity is to determine the true value of horticultural commodities in the Bundaberg Region through collation and analysis of production data.

Program Background

The collation of valid production information is paramount to determine an accurate representation of Industry. Due to the seasonality of the horticulture industry, this information needs to be obtained and analysed on a yearly basis to document changes. Data is currently collected on a federal level through an annual Survey by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) however, this survey has limitations. To understand the true value of horticulture in the Bundaberg Region this program has been designed to capture the data from an Industry-led platform with potential to be used in other growing regions of Queensland.
